Postmodenernist Theory
- Diliberately rejects the idea that there are highs and low culture.
- They tend to avoid rigid genre distinctions.
- Rather than conforming to genre distinctions, postmodernist took a preference of the following formats:
- Pastiche: A mixture of different forms.
- Prorody: A spoof version of genre
- Bricolage: Use of material avaliable despite the intended purpose.
- Irony: When there is tension between what is siad and what is meant.
- Very important concepts in postmodernism.
- Intertextuality is the way that one text may make use of another to add further.
